Mewa paag (mewa pak or pag - मेवा पाग) is a dessert recipe that usually made as a fast recipe or for Janmashtami festival sweet in India. Mewa paag dessert recipe is made with lots of dry fruits like fox nut, almonds, cashew nut, peanuts, raisins, dry coconut, pistachio and poppy seed, so its very rich in terms of nutrition. So lets prepare Panchmewa Pag or dry fruits burfi that goes as a bhog or prasad to Lord Krishna. Lets make mewa pak dessert recipe step-by-step.

Ingredients Of Mewa Paag Recipe:


Main Ingredients List:

  • 1 kg Sugar
  • 100 gm Fox nut (makhane)
  • 200 gm Dry Coconut
  • 100 gm Cashew nuts
  • 100 gm Peanuts
  • 100gm Raisins (kismis)
  • 50 gm Almonds
  • 25 gm Pistachio
  • 25 gm Poppy seeds (khaskhas)
  • 5-8 nos green cardamom
  • 2 tbsp Ghee (clarified butter)

How To Make Mewa Paag Recipe Directions/Method:


  1. Take a pan and roast all the dry fruits (fox nut, dry coconut, cashew nut, peanuts, and almonds) and roughly crush them.
  2. Now again take a pan to add sugar in it and melt it with water to make sugar syrup.
  3. Add ground green cardamom in syrup and heat it, until it becomes transparent.
  4. Now add all the roasted and grounded dry fruits in sugar syrup.
  5. Take all the dry fruits and coat it with sugar syrup and mix it well.
  6. Take a plate to add ghee in it, and grease it well.
  7. Now pour the mixture in the plate.
  8. Spread it evenly on a plate and decorate it with silver foil and cut it into pieces.
  9. Your Mewa paag dessert recipe is ready. eat it with family and friends at the Janmashtami festival.
