Gajar Ka Halwa (गाजर का हलवा) or Carrot Halwa is a traditional Indian sweet or dessert recipe made with fresh red carrots, milk, khoya and sugar. It is often served with a garnish of almonds and pistachios. Gajar halwa is one of the most popular Indian dessert recipe and Indian subcontinent. So lets make gajar ka halwa step by step.

Ingredients:


Main Ingredients:

  • 1 kg Carrot
  • 1 kg Milk
  • 500 gm Mawa (khoya)
  • 50 gm Ghee
  • 150 gm Sugar
  • 5 gm Green cardamom

For Garnishing:

  • 10-12 Cashew nut
  • 10-12 Pistachio
  • 10-12 Almonds

Directions/Method:


  1. Grate the carrot and steam it in a pan for about 10 minute.
  2. Now boil the carrot in milk for about 25-30 minutes on low flame.
  3. After that add sugar in it and stir it.
  4. Now add ghee and mawa in it.
  5. Finally add green cardamom and dry fruits in it and mix it well.
  6. Your gajar halwa is ready. Serve it hot.
