About Recipe:


Methi moong dal or moong dal puri, is a tasty, crispy and one of the healthy breakfast recipe. Methi or fresh fenugreek along with moong provide good nutrition to the kids as it contain iron, calcium, phosphorus. Fenugreek leaves are very beneficial for health. so lets make methi moong dal puri step by step.

Ingredients:


Ingredients:

  • 250 gm moong dal, soaked for 3-4 hours
  • 1 cup fenugreek leaves (dry)
  • 500gm wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp green chillies (chopped)
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp carom seeds
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  • 1/4 turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Oil or ghee for frying

Directions/Method:


  1. Wash the soaked dal and grind it into a fine paste without using water.
  2. In a large bowl add all ingredients along with grounded dal and mix it well.
  3. Now knead it into a smooth and stiff dough using very little water.
  4. Cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep it aside for about 15—20 minutes.
  5. After resting the dough, knead well once more and divide the dough into small portions.
  6. Roll out the dough balls into puris.
  7. Heat oil in kadai for frying.
  8. Add puri one by one and fry it till golden brown from both sides, so it becomes crispy.
  9. Remove excess oil and serve it hot with desired dish.
