Simple and flavourful minced chicken mixture enclosed in a refined flour dough and steamed..This Tandoori Chicken Momos Recipe is the best that you can make at home. Super soft outer covering with moist and juicy filling makes these irresistible and the good part is that they are super easy to make.
A plate of hot chicken momos and the rains outside your window – this is a combination to die for. A simple recipe, once you get the hang of shaping the dumplings, momos taste delicious when paired with a spicy sauce. In this Tandoori chicken momos recipe we have used ginger, garlic and chicken mince, but you can experiment with the fillings depending on how creative you are feeling while preparing it. Today we go a step ahead and pan-fry the steamed momos.

Ingredients:


Ingredients:

  • For dough:
  • 150gm Flour (Maida)
  • ½ tsp. Baking powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • Water as required (for knead)

For Chicken Filling:

  • 500gm Chicken boneless (minced)
  • 4 medium Onions (chopped)
  • 1 tsp. Black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp. Oil
  • 1 tbsp. Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Soya sauce
  • ½ tsp Vinegar
  • Salt to taste

For Chilli Sauce:

  • 7-8 Dry Red chillies
  • 20-25 Garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp. Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. Oil
  • Salt & Sugar to taste

For Tandoori Marination:

  • 3 to 4 tbsp. Tandoori Chicken Masala
  • 100gm Curd

Directions/Method:


For Dough:

  • In a bowl add flour, baking powder, salt and water combine all the ingredients and knead it into a soft dough.
  • Cover and keep it aside for 30 minutes.

 

For Chicken filling:

  • Add oil in a pan heat it, then add chopped onions saute it until it becomes golden brown.
  • Now add salt, garlic paste, black pepper powder, vinegar and soya sauce, saute it for 30 seconds so that flavours combine and smells nice.
  • Finally add boneless chicken (minced) in it and mix it well.
  • Your filling is ready.                 

 

For Chilli Sauce:

  • Cut the dry red chillies and soak them in water for about 2 hours. Cut into small pieces and put in bowl, add vinegar, garlic cloves, oil, salt and sugar as per taste.
  • Put all the ingredients in a mixer and grind it to make smooth paste.
  • Sauce is ready.

 

For Tandoori Marination:

  • Add chicken tandoori masala and curd in a bowl then mix it well.
  • Now divide dough into small portions, shape them into balls and roll out thinly.
  • Put the teaspoon of filling in the middle.
  • Bring all the edges together to the centre, making small tight pleats.
  • Pinch and twist the pleats to insure that momos is closed tightly, steam it in a steamer for about 20 minutes.
  • Take out steamed momos and dip it in tandoori masala, shallow fry it in a pan it comes out with smoky flavour.
  • Your tandoori chicken momos Recipe are ready.
