About Mawa Gujiya Recipe:
A gujiya, is a sweet deep-fried dumpling made with suji or maida and stuffed with a mixture of sweetened khoya and dried fruits. With origins in the Indian subcontinent, gujiya is commonly eaten in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. So lets make gujiya recipe step by step.
Ingredients Of Mawa Gujiya Recipe:
Main Ingredients:
- 250 gm maida
- 500 gm mawa (khoya)
- 250 gm powder sugar (bura)
- 50 gm chironji (cuddapah almond)
- 50 gm raisin (kismis)
- 50 gm dry coconut grated
- 5 gm green cardamom
- 100 gm ghee
For Garnishing:
- 1 tsp pistachio
How To Make Mawa Gujiya Recipe Directions/Method:
For Dough
- Take maida in a platter and add ghee in it mix it and knead it with hands.
- Add little water in it to make a soft dough.
- Your dough is ready.
For Gujiya Filling
- Add little ghee in a pan.
- Now add mawa in a pan and stir it on low flame for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add all dry fruits ( chironji, raisins), coconut powder and green cardamom powder mix it well.
- Now add powdered sugar (bura) in it.
- Mix all of them properly.
- Your filling is ready.
Gujiya making
- Take a small ball from the dough, roll the ball into a circle.
- Take a tablespoon of filling and put it in the center.
- Spread little water on the edge of the ball, then press the edges with your finger and seal it completely.
- Now pleated design at the edge, just keep on folding and twist the edge till the end.
- Prepare all the gujiyas in this way and covered with a moist napkin so that the dough does not dry.
- Deep fry all the gujiyas on medium heat till golden brown.
- Garnish it with pistachio.
- Your mawa gujiya recipe is ready.
