Punjabi Dum Aloo Recipe

About Recipe:


Dum Aloo or Alu Dum is a potato based dish, it is a part of the traditional Kashmiri Pandit cuisine, from the Kashmir Valley, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The potatoes, usually smaller ones, are first deep fried, then cooked slowly at low flame in a gravy with spices. Punjabi Dum Aloo recipe is a popular recipe cooked throughout India.

Ingredients:


Material -

  • 500 gm boiled potato
  • Two onions - in medium size (finely grounded)
  • Two Pieces - Tomatoes
  • Eight to Ten - Garlic Kaliya
  • Half inch - Ginger
  • Half cup - fresh curd
  • A spoon - cream of fresh cream or milk
  • A teaspoon - green red pepper
  • Half Teaspoon - Pisa Coriander
  • ¼ tsp - turmeric powder
  • Salt - according to taste
  • One big spoon - native ghee
  • Half Teaspoon - Garam Masala
  • Half Tea Spoon - Cumin Seeds
  • A sharp leaf
  • Pinch filled - asafoetida
  • Pinch-filled cinnamon
  • To decorate - Green Coriander or Kasuri Fenugreek

Directions/Method:


1. First, cook aloooo in microwave for 5 minutes. After taking ripe, put the aloo on one side and keep it aside for heating.

2. Now make a paste of garlic and ginger. Mix half cup of fresh curd, red chili, coriander, turmeric and garam masala together.

3. In a pan, add one big spoon of ghee to the country ghee. When you heat the country ghee, add cumin seeds to it.

4. Now put the teaspoon. In it, roast until the browned brown potatoes are brown and keep it aside. Now add garlic, ginger paste, and roast it well. Mix onion paste and roast it well. Then tomato Mix the paste as well.

5. Now add yogurt masala paste and roast until it starts greasing.

6. Now add salt to taste and let the frying pan well.

7. Now add fried potatoes to the spices and cook it for five minutes. You can also add one cup of water to it, if the gravy looks thicker then l

8. Turn off the gas after thoroughly cooking and serve the decor with green coriander.

9. Your punjabi dum aloo recipe is ready, enjoy it with indian bread or paratha.
