About Gulab Jamun Recipe:


Gulab jamun (also spelled gulaab jamun) is a milk-solid-based South Asian sweet, particularly popular in India, Myanmar, Nepal (where it is known as lalmon), Pakistan and Bangladesh. And the other variant of gulab jamun is Kala gulab jamun.

In India, you would find gulab jamun at every wedding, party, birthday and festivals. In short if you arrange any Indian party and plan to keep only one dessert, chances are it will be gulab jamun!

With the festive season about to begin, I had to share my favorite melt-in-mouth gulab jamun recipe with you guys.
It is made mainly from milk solids, traditionally from freshly curdled milk. It is often garnished with dried fruits like almonds to enhance flavor. In India, milk solids are prepared by heating milk over a low flame for a long time until most of the water content has evaporated. These milk solids, known as khoya in India.

Ingredients Of Gulab Jamun Recipe:


Main Ingredients:

  • For gulab jamun dough:
  • 1 kg mawa (khoya)
  • 150 gm maida (all purpose flour)
  • ghee for fry

For Filling:

  • 50 gm cuddapah almond (chironji)
  • 5 gm green cardamom

For Sugar Syrup:

  • 1 kg sugar
  • pinch of saffron
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 600 gm water

How To Make Gulab Jamun Recipe Directions/Method:


  1. First of all take mava/khoya and flour and mix it well bind them and make balls of it in small size.
  2. Fill green cardamom seeds and chironji in the middle of those balls and keep them well.
  3. Now add 600 grams of water in sugar and make a syrup and then put a little saffron in it and keep it aside.
  4. Now heat the ghee in the pan, when the ghee becomes hot, keep it on medium flame. Then put balls in the frying pan and fry them until it becomes brown on low flame.
  5. Then put one of these brown balls in saffron syrup. Gulab jamun will absorb the syrup after hot-hot pouring. Take out this quick-rolled gulab jamun.
  6. Your gulab jamun is ready
  7. It can also be served in hot or cold temperatures.
