About Pindi Chole Recipe:


Pindi chole is a classic dish from Punjab, which is flavored with a large assortment of spice powders and other ingredients like ginger, garlic and carom seeds which lend an irresistible flavor and aroma in it. So lets make pindi chole masala recipe step by step.

Ingredients Of Pindi Chole Recipe:


Main Ingredients:

  • 250 gm Kabuli Chana (soaked overnight)
  • 4 Cloves
  • 3 Cinnamon stick
  • 5-6 Black cardamom
  • 5-6 Green cardamom
  • 2-3 Bay leaves
  • 1 tsp Tea
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp Chana masala (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Mango powder
  • 2-3 medium-sized onions rings
  • Pinch of Black salt
  • Salt to taste

For Tadka:

  • 2-3 serving spoon oil
  • 50 gm ginger chopped
  • 2-3 green chili (slit)
  • 1 tbsp carom seeds
  • 7-8 garlic clove

For Decoration:

  • some onions rings
  • some green coriander

How To Make Pindi Chole Recipe Directions/Method:


  1. Add water in a pan bring it to boil and add Kabuli Chana in it.
  2. Now make a potli/packet of all spices (black cardamom, green cardamom, cloves, Bay leaves, tea and cinnamon stick) and put it in the centre of a pan.
  3. Cover it with lid and allow it to cook on a medium flame for about 1 hour.
  4. After the chana is boiled take it out in another frying pan,
  5. Now add all spices (turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, Chana masala and mango powder) in it.
  6. For tadka take a pan to add oil in it let it heat, add carom seeds, chopped ginger, green chilli and garlic for aroma.
  7. Now add this tadka in chana and mix it well.
  8. Add onion rings in it, mix it.
  9. Garnish it with coriander leaves and onion.
  10. Your pindi chole is ready.
  11. Serve the hot Pindi Chole with tandoori roti or bhatura.
