About Recipe:


A samosa is a fried, baked dish with a savoury filling, such as spiced potatoes, peas. It may take different forms, including triangular, cone, or half-moon shapes, depending on the region.

Ingredients:


For Dough:

  • Maida (100gm)
  • Carom seeds (1tbsp)
  • Salt (1tsp)

For Masala:

  • Boiled potatoes (2-3 medium size)
  • Green chilies (2-3 chopped)
  • Ginger (1 grated)
  • Turmeric powder (1tsp)
  • Coriander powder (1tsp)
  • Amchoor powder (1tsp)
  • Garam masala (1tsp)
  • Asafoetida (a pinch of)
  • Salt (1tsp)
  • Cumin seeds (1tsp)
  • Kasuri methi (1tsp)

Directions/Method:


 For Dough Making :

  • Take a bowl add maida, carom seeds and salt in it. Add little oil mix it and combine together.
  • Now with the help of water knead a tight dough.
  • Cover it with a wet cloth and keep it for atleast 20-25 minutes.

 

For Samosa Filling:

  • Take a pan to add oil heat it now add asafoetida, cumin seeds, ginger, green chilies and saute it.
  • Now add boiled and mashed potatoes in it, mix it.
  • Add all spices (turmeric powder, coriander powder, amchoor powder, salt, kasuri methi, garam masala) in it.
  • Mix it well and your masala is ready.

 

For flat samosa:

  • Now cut dough into 2 parts and roll into a thin chapati.
  • Spread samosa filling on the chapati.
  • Tightly roll into chapati into a cylindrical shape.
  • Now cut it into 1 cm disk.
  • Lightly press and flattern the disk.
  • Take a bowl to add maida (20gm),  salt and water mix it, make a thin slurry.
  • Take a kadai to add oil and heat it.
  • Now dip and coat the samosa with flour slurry and fry it on medium flame until light brown color.
  • Your Flat Samosa is ready.
