About Rajasthani Daal Baati Recipe:


Daal baati is a specialty of Rajasthan. In every festival of rajasthan most of people make dal baati . Dal baati is an Indian dish. Indian cuisine has always been a paradise for vegetarians.
It’s amazing the variety of vegetarian recipes we have. It is popular in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Daal is basically prepared using tuar dal, chana dal, moong dal, moth dal, or urad dal. Lets make dal-baati step-by-step.

Ingredients Of Rajasthani Daal Baati Recipe:


For Baati:

  • 2 bowls of wheat flour
  • 1 bowl of semolina
  • 1 bowl gram flour
  • 1 small spoon of salt
  • 2 bowls of ghee
  • 1 pinch of sweet soda.

For Dal:

  • 1 medium bowl - five types of pulse [Mung, Udad, Chana, Lentil, Arhar]
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 spoon hot spices powder
  • 1/2 spoon cumin seeds
  • a pinch of Hing
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 2-3 tejpatta
  • Decorating Ingredients - Green Coriander

How To Make Rajasthani Daal Baati Recipe Directions/Method:


Method for bati:

  1. Mix flour, salt, and soda properly and filter it.
  2. mix a small bowl of hot ghee into flour mix to make crispy baati.
  3. Make a hard dough and cover it for an hour.
  4. After 1/2 hour, make small dough balls.
  5. Put dough balls in the oven for 25 min at 200 degrees.
  6. Take them out the oven and dip them in the ghee. And now we will make a mix dal.

 

Method for dal:

  1. Wash the dal and soak it for 1/2 hours.
  2. If there is one bowl of dal use five bowls of water to cook dal.
  3. Put salt, turmeric, coriander powder and red chili powder in it and keep it cooked.
  4. Put soaked daal in a pressure cooker. You may also cook it in a pressure cooker but it tastes different when cooking it in an open vessel.
  5. Now Heat the ghee in a frypan. Add asafoetida (hing), garlic(chopped), cumin, onion(chopped), tomatoes(chopped), green chilies(chopped). 
  6. After a little fry, add garam masala and put that gravy in dal. And close the lid. Decorate it with coriander.
