About Mawa Gujiya Recipe:
It is a sweet dish, nowadays it is made on every Teej festival throughout India, but it is a dish of Uttar Pradesh which is specially made on Holi. It is mostly made by filling mawa, specially on Holi you can serve these to guests with sweet,salty, spicy stuff in it.
Gujiya do resemble empanadas and very much popular in north India, especially during Holi festival. Its not they are made only during Holi. They are also made during Diwali.
Mawa gujiya is served plain. once they are cooled, then keep them in air-tight box and they stay well for some days.
Ingredients Of Mawa Gujiya Recipe:
Ingredients:
- ½ kg flour
- 4 tbsp. ghee
- To fry enough ghee
For Filling -
- Mawa 200 gms
- One cup chironji
- One cup almond chopped
- Half cup cashew nuts
- Half Cup Dry Coconut powder
- 1/2 tsp green small cardamom crushed
- pinch of Saffron
- 3/4 cup grinded sugar
- To make syrup 500 gm sugar
- 150 g water
How To Make Mawa Gujiya Recipe Directions/Method:
Gujiya method -
1. Take flour in a large bowl. Mix two teaspoons of Ghee . Mix it well with water. Keep it covered for half an hour.
2. Now add ghee in a pan and golden fry all the dry fruits on medium flame.
3. Now add mawa in it and roast it and keep it to aside for cool. Mix grinded sugar, cardamom, and saffron , add roasted dry fruits also in mawa.
4. Now knead the dough again and make small puri, pour filling of mawa in puri and make gujia with its frame.
5. Heat ghee in a pan, fry all the gujia on low flame and fry it until it becomes golden brown. after that add it in sugar syrup which you have prepared.
6. your mawa gujia recipe is ready to serve.
To make syrup -
Take a vessel add sugar and water in it bring it to boil and its ready.
