Ingredients Of Chicken Biryani Recipe:


Main Ingredients:

  • 500 grams whole basmati rice
  • 1 kg chicken
  • 250 gms onion
  • 200 gms of yogurt
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons ginger paste
  • Two medium-sized tomatoes
  • 250 gm ghee
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 4-5 long (cloves)
  • 10-15 black pepper
  • Two pieces of cinnamon
  • 5 green chilies
  • 4-5 small green cardamom
  • 2-3 bay leaf
  • 2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 2-3 thread of saffron
  • Salt to taste

For Garnishing:

  • 1 lemon slices
  • 1 onion rings
  • 1 tomato slices
  • some green chilies
  • some green coriander leaves

How To Make Chicken Biryani Recipe Directions/Method:


  1. Cut the onion into thin slices. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into small pieces. Cut chicken into cubes of one and a half inch and wash well.
  2. Take the chicken in a large vessel, add curd, ginger, garlic, a little turmeric, coriander powder, red chili powder, lemon juice, and salt to it and mix all the mixture thoroughly and keep it for 1-2 hour for marination.
  3. Now clean the rice and keep it soaked in water for one hour, take out the water and keep the rice aside.
  4. Now add water in a pan then add some salt, 1-2 green cardamom, 5-6 cloves and bring the water to boil then add rice. (Important) Cook the rice up to 25% - 30% after that strain it.  
  5. Now add ghee to a pot/handi or a thick bottom pan. When the ghee is heated, roast the chopped onion until it becomes dark brown, then separates the onion from ghee, and keep aside.
  6. Now add cumin seeds in the same ghee. Mix fry cumin seeds for ten seconds. Now add bay leaf, black pepper, Cloves, Cardamom, Cinnamon, and fry it for ten seconds. then add chopped tomatoes, cook it for a few minutes on a high flame and keep running continuously. 
  7. Now put the chicken in the bottom of handi and cook it 10 to 15 min on high flame. Then add little water to it and let it boil.
  8. Now add boiled rice, saffron water, and fried onions to it. 
  9. Cover the rice with a lid and cook it for 30 minutes on slow flame or until the rice and chicken are completely melted. After this, open the lid and separate the rice so that the rice does not become soaked with adhesive. Now put the ghee on top of the rice.
  10. Your chicken biryani is ready. You can serve it with raita or kachurmar.

 

Tip: Do not overcook the rice. This is the easiest part to mess up in making Biryani
