About Semolina Upma Recipe:
Upma is a dish made from semolina/suji. It is a light meal consisting of morning and evening snacks. It contains a great amount of carbohydrates and protein. It is a delicious dish that is eaten in India. It is made with very simple ingredients. So lets make suji upma step-by-step.
My mom always said, upma is the savory version of sooji halwa, whhich is true in a way. They are both made with sooji and water. The difference is one has sugar and the other has veggies and salt.
Rava Upma is often served with coconut chutney and filter coffee.
Ingredients Of Semolina Upma Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 100gm semolina/suji
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 2 Onion chopped
- 2 Green chilly chopped
- 5-6 Curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp ghee
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Pinch of asafoetida
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
For Garnishing:
- Some Curry leaves or Coriander leaves
How To Make Semolina Upma Recipe Directions/Method:
- Take a pan heat it. Now add one spoon of ghee, add mustard seeds in it wait until it crackles.
- Now add asafoetida and then saute some curry leaves , add chopped onion and green chilli saute it until the onions turn into golden brown.
- Now add semolina/ suji in it roast it light brown.
- Add spices ( turmeric, salt, coriander powder, green chili, red chilli powder) in it and saute it.
- In the end, add two bowls of water and cover it to cook for about 5-8 minutes. Till it soaked water.
- Your semolina upma recipe is ready.
- Serve it in a plate and garnish it with curry leaves or green coriander.
